There have been thousands of studies performed in regard to caffeine and it’s effects upon the human body. But the interpretation of some of these studies is made difficult because there is wide variation in people’s sensitivity to caffeine. Some people are extremely sensitive to even a small amount of coffee or tea. They may feel anxious, irritable or edgy, or have insomnia, flushed face, heart irregularities or gastrointestinal disturbances with any consumption of caffeine. For most people, though, it takes a large amount of caffeine (in excess of 800 milligrams per day) to produce any of these effects.
