Tomatoes can be grown and harvested in a variety of ways, which will determine their quality, best use, and price.
More and more, we see new ways of nurturing and harvesting vegetables and fruits like tomatoes.

One of these new ways is to grow tomatoes hydroponically. Hydroponic tomatoes are grown in special, highly controlled environments, where the tomato plant is separated from the soil and nurtured by delivering liquid nutrients directly to the plant's roots. Proponents of this process cite economic benefits (more production in less time, controlled water and energy use, etc.) as some of the major advantages of this system.
